About Mercy Theatre
Mercy's nationally recognized theatre program has opportunities for all students: those who wish to be on the stage and those who prefer to work on the technical side behind the scenes. With multiple shows each year, students have the opportunity to act, produce the lighting and sound, play in a live orchestra pit during musicals, create costumes and design make-up, build the set and so much more!
Those who wish to delve deeper into theatre can join our Thespian Society. There are opportunities to participate in state and national performances. Mercy Theatre received all superior ratings and passed onto the INternational Thespian Festival with the production of
Señora Tortuga, a bi-lingual musical where students and staff created original music. Students have also received superior ratings in individual acting events at the state and national level.
There are also opportunities for international travel as Mercy Theater has been accepted to the American High School Theatre Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland twice!
Opportunities for growth continue with masterclasses with top professionals in the field and service opportunities in local elementary schools. Experience is not required to get started in Mercy Theatre and all are encouraged to join.
