Mercy Academy hosts Galentine’s Day gathering

Mercy Academy hosts Galentine’s Day gathering

On February 10, Mercy Academy hosted its third-annual Galentine’s Day event, a joyful celebration of friendship and connection. Welcoming over 150 fifth through seventh-grade students from across the Louisville area, the evening offered a glimpse into the welcoming spirit and strong sense of community that defines Mercy Academy.

Held ahead of Valentine’s Day and popularized by the sitcom Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day is all about celebrating friendships and encouraging women and girls to support and uplift one another. Mercy Academy embraced that spirit by creating a fun, inclusive space where young students could feel confident, celebrated and free to be themselves.

The free event featured a variety of interactive activities that allowed attendees to socialize, express their creativity and make lasting memories. Students enjoyed a Silent Disco, crafted DIY accessories, decorated cookies with colorful toppings and enjoyed a build-your-own soda bar.

Beyond the activities, the Galentine’s Day event also gave attendees the opportunity to explore Mercy Academy’s campus and interact with current students and staff. Events like these reflect Mercy’s commitment to fostering confidence, leadership and meaningful connections.
