Mercy Academy students gain real-world insights during Career Conference

Mercy Academy students gain real-world insights during Career Conference

Mercy Academy hosted a dynamic and impactful career conference on April 14, bringing together more than 80 professionals from a wide range of industries to help students gain valuable real-world insights.

During the conference, juniors and seniors attended two panel sessions of their choice, where professionals shared their career journeys and answered questions, allowing students to explore fields aligned with their interests. Meanwhile, freshmen and sophomores engaged in a traditional career fair setting, connecting directly with professionals. Underclasswomen also attended a keynote session from Health Psychologist and Executive Coach Dr. Patti Weiter, who emphasized the importance of networking, leadership, and intentional daily actions in shaping future success.

In the weeks leading up to the event, students participated in six career readiness lessons focused on essential life and workplace skills, including making positive first impressions, effective introductions, small talk, professional etiquette, confidence-building, self-advocacy, and networking. Together, these experiences created a comprehensive opportunity for students to develop the skills, mindset, and connections needed to confidently pursue their goals and become the best version of themselves.

“Our goal is to develop well rounded students who have the confidence and skills to be successful,” said Angie Laemmle, Director of Student Life at Mercy Academy.
