Mercy Academy hosts Young Alumnae Homecoming

Mercy Academy hosts Young Alumnae Homecoming

On Dec. 18, Mercy Academy hosted the annual Young Alumnae Homecoming, an event that welcomes recent graduates back to Mercy to reconnect with past teachers, mentors and classmates.

“Mercy girls find themselves all over the world after graduating, so having an opportunity near the holidays to welcome them back home is truly special,” said Emily Willis, Director of Annual Giving and Alumnae Relations at Mercy Academy. “Your Mercy experience doesn't end after graduation; numerous alumnae live by that each and every day!”

Young Alumnae Homecoming has been a cherished tradition at Mercy Academy for almost three decades. During the event, the last five years of graduating classes are invited, with this year’s event welcoming the classes of 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and the most recent grads, 2025.

As soon as students arrive, they are welcome to explore the building and visit their old classrooms and reconnect with former teachers. Attendees also enjoy Mercy-themed giveaways, with the Mercy Cookie remaining a favorite.

Willis said one of the most special moments of the event is seeing alumnae return, proudly showcasing the unique style they’ve developed and donning their college gear. She said faculty and staff take great pride in witnessing their students thrive and flourish.

“To witness former students that you've taught, mentored, and encouraged, seeing them excelling and navigating the real world is so fulfilling,” she said. “Seeing recent grads embracing each other like they never left, that is a really beautiful sight. There are smiles and laughter, sometimes happy tears, it is so special to be a part of those moments.”
