BOLD Alumnae Spotlight: Erin Ruhl

BOLD Alumnae Spotlight: Erin Ruhl

Every cutting-edge new building begins with a visionary architect, and for the new 12,000-square-foot STEAM Innovation Center at Mercy Academy, that architect is Erin Ruhl. A 2005 Mercy Academy graduate, Erin's involvement in this project is deeply personal.

"We are all so excited about how transformative this addition can be, especially with the specialty spaces in it," Ruhl said.

Erin is playing a crucial role in the Mercy BOLD Capital Campaign, working to bring the Innovation Center to life for future generations of Mercy students. She leads the architecture and design team, alongside Abby Hans, a 2019 Mercy graduate and CMTA team member. Set to break ground in 2026, the center will feature state-of-the-art labs, classrooms, and collaborative spaces, enriching the school's project-based learning curriculum.

"I would encourage all of our alums to just get excited and talk about the BOLD Campaign," Ruhl continued. "Talk to other alums, and friends that aren't alums. Just get our Louisville community and beyond excited about it. I think it's only good things if people are engaged and excited and talking about it."

As an associate with Omni Architects in Lexington, Erin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Kentucky and her Master of Architecture from Rice University.

We are thankful for Erin's expertise, dedication, and pride in Mercy as she helps make this incredible vision a reality.
