Placement Test
What is the High School Placement Test?
All students that plan to go to a Catholic high school take the High School Placement Test. This is the start of the enrollment process! The High School Placement Test is a national standardized test that helps us understand where your student is academically so we can place her in the right classes for her freshman year. This is just one part of the process, and placement decisions can be flexible. We also consider teacher and parent recommendations and allow students to adjust levels over time to ensure they are appropriately challenged and supported.
Taking the test also lets us know your family wants to stay connected to Mercy Academy. From this point on, we'll be in touch with next steps and enrollment information all the way up to the first day of school in August. This ensures your student is included in our initial count for the Class of 2029 and that she gets every opportunity to bond with future classmates during special events.
While we don't want her to rush past the joys of her 8th-grade year, this is the perfect time to start preparing for her next four years!
Still deciding? That's okay!
Taking the placement test doesn't commit your family financially or lock your student into attending Mercy. However, it's an important step to take now, even if you're still weighing options. If you decide later that Mercy is the right fit for you, you'll already have this step completed.
