About the Mercy BOLD Campaign
As the first all-girls STEM-certified school in the nation, Mercy Academy is proud of its STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) leadership and its long legacy of making BOLD moves to equip, enable, and empower our students for the future.
That’s why Mercy Academy is announcing the next step in the school’s journey: Mercy BOLD.
Mercy BOLD is a $15 million capital campaign to raise meaningful funds designated to build a STEAM Innovation Center, invest in 5.5 acres of adjacent land for future development, and increase tuition assistance for every young woman who dreams of attending Mercy Academy.
The lead gift for the Mercy BOLD Capital Campaign was provided by Paul Kalbfleisch to remember his wife, Dr. Sheri Sauer Kalbfleisch, an influential alumna from the Class of 1965 and a respected physician in the Louisville community.

Campaign Investments
Innovation Center
$5.7 Million
The Dr. Sheri Kalbfleisch Innovation Center will feature two state-of-the-art STEAM shops, a Health Science Lab, a technology classroom, an outdoor classroom and courtyard, two spacious studios for 2D art and ceramics, and four collaborative spaces for project-based learning.
Tuition Assistance
$8 Million
Students are at the heart of everything we do at Mercy. That’s why growing our tuition assistance program is so important. Increasing our annual fund provides support for students today, and a strong endowment will provide consistent funding for tuition assistance in the future.
Land Investment
$1.3 Million
Mercy had the unique opportunity to purchase 5.5 acres of land adjacent to our current campus. Expanding our campus footprint demonstrates the long-term commitment we have for student success. Investing in property allows us to remain an innovative leader in education and in control of our surrounding environment.
