Congratulations, Sarah Peace, Principal of Mercy Academy!
Mercy is thrilled to announce our next principal, Sarah Peace! Sarah will begin her new role July 1, 2018. She currently serves as Mercy's Assistant Principal - Dean of Studies under principal, Amy Elstone.
"Sarah embodies every quality that the Sisters of Mercy would want in a principal. She's innovative, forward-thinking and a woman of amazing integrity...The school could not be in better hands," Amy said.
Sarah began working as a teacher at Mercy in 2012 and moved into her current role as assistant principal in 2015. She spearheaded Mercy's STEM accreditation process and works with developing the curriculum. Sarah sincerely believes in the individual student and that each student can be successful, no matter their academic background.
With fewer and fewer Sisters of Mercy, Sarah said she feels that it is her responsibility to continue their mission on their behalf.
"While I understand this role brings many challenges, I believe our greatest challenge is to always honor and maximize the valuable gift we have been given as educators of young women...I really believe that our work changes the course of our students' lives. And through that, our students then change the world. I couldn't imagine a more rewarding job than that."
We are extremely excited to welcome Sarah into this new role! Congratulations!
