A Letter to My Sisters

To my sisters,

Thank you for everything. When I came to Mercy my freshman year, I didn't know I was gaining a whole new family. Family is such an easy word to describe Mercy. It's right up there with "home." But Mercy is so much more than these words. They feel so insignificant when I think about all of the extraordinary people I've grown to cherish these past four years. Mercy cannot be reduced to just one word, so here's a poem to explain just some of the things that ring true to me when I think of you:

Mercy Musings

Messier than Monday mornings
Perfect and not, all at the same time.

More determined than the
Scrunched eyebrows during
Senior service.

Happier than the
Tears in her eyes from
Laughing too hard at lunch.

Louder than the
Fight song at the
Championship game.

Sweeter than a
Warm cookie,
Fresh out of the oven.

Classier than the classes that
Teach her to stretch beyond her
Wildest dreams.

Mercy is in her mind
All the days of her life.

Thank you to my sisters for dancing through life with me. I wish you the best.

With love and mercy,

Amanda Fautz
