Becky Wise Montague '91 Named Next President of Mercy Academy
We are pleased to announce that Becky Wise Montague '91 will serve as the next President for The Academy of Our Lady of Mercy beginning July 1, 2019. The Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve Mrs. Montague as the next President and the Mercy Education System of the Americas (MESA) Board ratified that decision.
As a 1991 graduate of Mercy Academy, Mrs. Montague is a true woman of Mercy. She credits her love of Catholic social teachings and service to her community to her experience as a Mercy student. Mercy truly feels that with her well-rounded strengths in fundraising, finance and facilities, coupled with her love of Mercy, she is uniquely positioned to lead us.
One of her references said, "Becky is the true definition of a woman of Mercy, she lives the Mercy mission every day." Her most recent role as the Executive Director of the Family Community Clinic has brought her an opportunity to hone her skills as a leader, fundraiser and advocate for those in need.
She is a graduate of Leadership Louisville's Bingham Fellows program, was a recipient of the 2013 Leadership Award from Mercy Academy and was named one of Business First's 20 People to Know in 2015.
Mrs. Montague said she feels "overwhelmingly wonderful" as she accepts this position and feels the support of many as she steps into this new role.
"My leadership style is to be very present, accessible, hands-on and informed. I like to know how people do their job and the things that interest people. I hope to take Mercy from the campus to the community and then bring the community back to the campus."
